Blood & Breath Frequency Opera is visually inspired by the work of world-renown artist Margot McLean.

“When Honora Foà invited me to work on the images for Blood & Breath Frequency Opera, the common thread was the book Dream Animals on which my late husband, the psychologist and writer, James Hillman and I collaborated. The blending of my paintings with this work felt like a perfect combination, acknowledging and honoring those non-human beings that share the planet with us. Having this opera premiere in Italy played an important role in my desire to participate. Blood & Breath will bring me back to the country that James and I loved so much and that certainly loved him.”
